Introduction
Männerchor Liederkranz, formed in 1962 in Edmonton, Canada, is a men's choir dedicated to preservation of German musical culture in our community. We participate in social events in the German Community, in song at the Kaffeeklatch, German Days, and at other German festive occasions. We represent our club to the larger community in Edmonton by singing at hospitals and continuing care homes, Alberta’s Legislature, and at a number of church services during the Christmas season.

About Us
Männerchor Liederkranz is a German male choir which strives to preserve our rich German cultural heritage through song. We practice every Wednesday from September through to June at 7:30PM at the German Canadian Cultural Association (8310 Roper Rd NW, Edmonton).
Our History
In 1960 a group of men formed a choir in order to preserve the male choral traditions they had known in Germany.
The choir operated in the Club Edelweiß until 1962 when the choir was registered with the Alberta Societies Branch as the German Male Choir 'Liederkranz' of Edmonton. The choir moved to the former Friends of Berlin Club in 1972 and returned to the 'Edelweiß' following the destruction of the Friends of Berlin by fire.
When the German Canadian Cultural Association was formed, the Liederkranz took up residence in their building. The chorus is a member of the Deutscher Sängerbund (a world-wide association of German choirs) and the Prärie Sängerbund (an association of German choirs in western Canada).
Our Music
We sing a number of musical styles from classic German Lied to popular English arrangements. Click on the link to listen to one of our performances.
