After weeks of gloomy weather, rain and snow, the sun came out, so did the birds and the beautiful women dressed in their finery to attend the 37th Annual German Consular Banquet and Ball at the MacDonald Hotel’s Empire Ballroom - one of the finest adorned banquet rooms in Edmonton.

To begin the festivities, a bagpiper, piped – The Maple Leaf Forever – leading in the honor guard of two RCMP officers in full regalia along with other honored guests, including the Mayor, Don Iverson and his beautiful wife Sarah Chan.  Number one on the agenda was singing of the national anthems of Germany and Canada by Liederkranz, to the delight of all attending the Banquet & Ball.
